before the race between 05h00 and 06h00. Allow enough time for travel, traffic
and parking. Remember that the N14 will be partially closed for the race.

ROAD CLOSURE ON THE N14 - SATURDAY 31 JANUARY 2009
N14 eastwards towards Pretoria between M5 (Beyers Naudé Drive) and R511 (Diepsloot): 06h00 - 11h00
N14 westwards towards Krugersdorp between R511 (Diepsloot) and Pinehaven intersection (Muldersdrift): 06h00 - 12h00
The yellow and left lanes of the freeway will be reserved for cyclists, while motor vehicles will be able to drive in the right lane only.
Please drive carefully!
Vehicles will be able to use all intersections onto and from the freeway.
Traffic on roads across the N14 freeway will not be affected.
Please reduce speed and be considerate.

Routes: 97km: The new route will leave Silverstar Casino in a westwards direction and follow a circular route from there along the R28, Robert Broom Avenue, the R24 towards Tarlton, and then along the N14 eastwards to the Krugersdorp/Pretoria highway (N14/R28) at Pinehaven. From Pinehaven the route will follow the N14 highway to the Diepsloot offramp and turn back on the N14 westwards, until the finish line about 1km before the Pinehaven intersection. We have obtained partial road closure of the N14 between Muldersdrift and Diepsloot, and then back again from Diepsloot to Muldersdrift (yellow line and left lane). 55km: The new route will leave Silverstar Casino in a westwards direction and follow a circular route from there along the R28, Robert Broom Avenue, the R24 towards Tarlton, and then along the N14 eastwards to the Krugersdorp/Pretoria highway (N14/R28) at Pinehaven. Roetes: 97km: Die roete vertrek langs die R28 vanaf Silverstar Casino (Muldersdrift) na Krugersdorp, en draai af by Robert Broom-weg in ’n weswaartse rigting. Draai regs (noordwaarts) in die R563 verby die Sterkfontein Psigiatriese Hospitaal, en dan weer regs verby die Sterkfontein-grotte. Draai links by die Kromdraai T-aansluiting, en neem die linkerbeen by die sirkel verby die Leeu- en Renosterpark deur die sg Wieg van die Mensdom. Draai regs by die verlenging van Beyers Naudé-rylaan (M5) suidwaarts na Johannesburg. Draai links op die N14-hoofweg tot by Diepsloot (R511), links by die T-aansluiting, onderdeur die hoofweg en regs by die robot om weer met die N14 weswaarts terug te ry tot by die eindpunt ongeveer 1km voor die Pinehaven-kruising in Muldersdrift. Ons het gedeeltelike padsluiting op die N14 tussen Muldersdrift en Diepsloot, en dan weer terug van Diepsloot na Muldersdrift (geel streep en linkerbaan). 55km: Hierdie roete is dieselfde as die 97km-roete tot by die N14 hoofweg. Hier gaan die fietsryers wat net 55km ry oor die brug, en net daarna links om in die N14 weswaarts te kom, tot by die eindpunt omtrent 1 km voor die Pinehaven-kruising in Muldersdrift. |
